Year 1- Overview

          Hospital Detention (PROJECT SANTETEE):
  • In December 2020, we raised a total of ₦567,215 to settle outstanding medical bills for 8 patients detained at the Lagos Island General Hospital, Odan. We also provided relief materials to 50 patients present at the hospital. Our commitment to this cause continued throughout the year, as we extended support to additional indigent families facing hospital detention.
          Mother’s Day Outreach:
  • In March 2021, we celebrated Mother’s Day by providing cash gifts to 10 widows and indigent women in the Makoko community of Lagos State, along with 2 additional beneficiaries who applied online.
          Family Resilience Program (PROJECT SICKLED):
  • In July 2021, we encountered a family of four orphaned siblings, all living with Sickle Cell Disease (SCD). Upon meeting them, the eldest sibling (Happiness) was seeking donations to afford urgent medical treatment for a persistent, two-month crisis. We immediately provided the necessary funds, followed by weekly stipends and food supplies. To foster greater stability, we launched a fundraising campaign and successfully raised ₦170,000. This enabled us to purchase a sewing machine, empowering Happiness to start a business, clear outstanding hospital bills, and secure health insurance for the family.
         Sickle Cell Awareness & Support:
    • We produced a sickle cell documentary featuring interviews with individuals living with SCD. This aimed to raise awareness about the disease and provide insight into their experiences.
            Widows’ Empowerment Initiative (PROJECT WIDOWING):
    • In May 2021, we began filming “PROJECT WIDOWING”, a documentary examining the experiences of widows in Nigeria. We identified three primary beneficiaries and shared their stories in July 2021, launching a fundraising campaign with a ₦500,000 goal. While fundraising, we provided for their immediate needs and monthly stipends. In September 2021, we surpassed our target, ultimately raising ₦532,200. These funds were used to cover educational fees for the beneficiaries’ children, secure housing for one widow, and establish businesses for two others. We are committed to ongoing follow-up and monitoring their progress.
           Random Acts of Kindness:
    • We have established a program to support our most vulnerable beneficiaries through birthday gifts and assistance to indigent families outside our larger projects. Additionally, we provide monthly stipends to a network of widows across the country.
Conclusion

We are committed to continued follow-up and monitoring their progress. We extend our deepest gratitude for your unwavering support throughout our inaugural year. Your partnership is invaluable as we strive to transform lives, one trajectory at a time…
